About
Alice Lake Provincial Park sits about 13 km north of Squamish off Highway 99, in the Sea to Sky region. BC Parks describes it as four freshwater lakes surrounded by mountains, forest and grassy areas. Alice Lake itself has two sandy beaches with change houses and a floating dock at South Beach near the campground, which makes it one of the most family-friendly campgrounds within reach of Vancouver.
The Four Lakes Trail links the lakes for a longer walk. Cycling is permanently closed between Edith Lake and Alice Lake (South Beach) and around Alice Lake, and the rest of the trail is closed to bikes from May 1 to September 15. The nearest store is 6 km away in Brackendale.
The sites
BC Parks lists 55 vehicle-accessible campsites and one group camping area. Electrical hookups cost an extra $8 per night where available. The booking map divides the campground into loops A and B, a walk-in area and the group site. Dogs must be on leash; they're allowed in the campground but not on the beaches, picnic areas or playground.

How booking works
Reservations are made on camping.bcparks.ca or by phone at 1-800-689-9025 (7am to 7pm PT, $5 phone fee). Per the BC Parks frontcountry camping rules:
- Book up to three months before arrival. New dates open daily at 7am Pacific Time. (The window was four months until 2025.)
- Statutory long weekends open on separate, earlier dates and need a three-night minimum.
- The maximum stay is 14 nights per calendar year across BC Parks.
- The booking fee is $6 per site per night, to a maximum of $18 per site, plus tax.
- Online booking at most parks closes at 8pm two days before arrival.
The group camping area books up to 12 months ahead, with fees paid in full at booking.
Last checked: October 2026. 2027 long-weekend dates aren't announced yet; expect them to follow the 2026 pattern.
When it sells out
BC Parks is unusually blunt about this one: for July, August and September it says the park is "usually full even on weekdays". Summer weekends and long weekends typically go on release morning, three months out. Your best shots are late spring and late September, or picking up cancellations closer to the date.
How to get a cancellation
BC Parks' cancellation windows:
- More than 7 days before arrival: full refund of camping fees
- Within 7 days: one night's fee deducted
- On the arrival date: two nights' fees deducted
For the group site, cancelling more than 28 days out gets a full refund of camping fees; inside 28 days there's no refund. Expect individual sites to come back in the days just before the 7-day mark, and the group site before the 28-day mark.
You can watch Alice Lake on Canada Camp Alerts and we'll tell you when a sold-out night opens. Each night is judged on its own: it counts as open when any bookable unit is free. We don't match the same site across nights, your party size or RV length, and we don't book for you. The free plan is one watch with email alerts sent 15 minutes after we spot the opening. The season pass (C$25 once, 12 months, no auto-renew) adds up to 10 watches, instant alerts, Telegram and web push.
Tips
- If you need power, check the site details before you pay; not every site has a hookup.
- Have your BC Parks account signed in and payment saved so you can book within a minute of an alert.
- A one-night opening on a Friday can be paired with another later. Watch the whole range rather than one exact stay.
- Generators run only 9am to 11am and 6pm to 8pm. Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am.

Questions
When can I book Alice Lake?
Up to three months before your arrival date, from 7am Pacific Time on camping.bcparks.ca. Long weekends open on their own earlier dates. The group camping area opens 12 months ahead.
Is Alice Lake really full in summer?
BC Parks says the park is usually full even on weekdays in July, August and September, and advises booking well ahead.
When do cancellations appear at Alice Lake?
Campers get a full refund of camping fees if they cancel more than 7 days before arrival, so cancellations cluster just before that cutoff.
Will an alert tell me which site opened?
Alerts are per night for the whole campground: a night counts as open when any bookable site is free. We don't match a particular site, party size or vehicle.
